This Friday, Vh1 is scheduled to air N.W.A.: The World's Most Dangerous Group, a documentary highlighting the reign of one of the most legendary groups in Hip Hop history.
The Compton, California based group released its first album, N.W.A. and the Posse, in 1987, but it was not until their sophomore effort, infamously titled Straight Outta Compton, did they go on to reach tremendous commercial success with records such as “Fu%$ tha Police,” and “Gangsta Gangsta.” The 1988 album marked the beginning of the gangsta rap era, and would help to propel the solo careers of respected artists Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, DJ Yella and MC Ren.

In the summer of 1993, the Wu-Tang Clan emerged from the slums of Staten Island and took the hip-hop world by storm. Their legacy spanned over a decade, selling more than twenty million albums. Their talents brought them success and their music made them legends. This is their story. http://www.wumovie.com/

Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z has teamed-up with mega hit producers Stargate – known for their work with Ne-Yo, Beyonce and Rihanna - to officially launch the label StarRoc. According to international music site 730.no, the Norwegian duo, consisting of Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriken, have confirmed the deal with the multi-platinum selling rapper. Known for their consistency in creating smash hit records with their work on projects by Nas, Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, Usher, R. Kelly and others, Stargate will be based out of Jay’s Roc The Mic studio in Manhattan.

Seven years after the quest began, this editor was able to conversate with the man responsible for the intricate, timeless songwriting on joints like "Looking At The Front Door" and "The Sun" and the carefully seasoned "original recipe" production on Nas' "Halftime" and Kool G Rap's "Money In The Bank."  Just over two weeks away from his long awaited, nostalgic return to album-making, Main Source, a nod to Large Pro's classic '90s group, the contender for "best producer on the mic" status emerges to discuss his past, present and future.

The novel details Osorio’s five years at the publication, starting with her hiring as Associate Editor in 2000 and leading up to her firing as Editor-In-Chief in 2005. While the book reads like a story, it’s far from fiction, as it’s a very honest tale of Osorio’s time at the since beleaguered magazine – for better or worse. The novel goes into great length about The Source’s overlords at the time – co-founder Dave Mays and rapper turned entrepreneur Raymond “Benzino” Scott, whose feud with Eminem both on and off wax spilled onto the pages of The Source much to the chagrin of its termination-fearing staff.

When the advertising industry's oldest trade association, the American Advertising Federation, honors the next crop of industry professionals under the age of 40, it will likely be the first time Hip Hop culture is represented. Steve Stoute will be one of the annual honorees for the AAF's Hall of Achievement ceremony on Nov. 18. The former executive made a name for himself as a manager for artists such as Kid 'N' Play and, most notably, Nas.
